God does His best work at Rock Bottom

God said to me the other day \”I do my best work when you\’re at rock bottom.\”

I\’ve had to sit on that for a couple days, not because I didn\’t believe I was at rock bottom, because this surely feels like I\’m in the pit, but because I had to really process what that meant for me.

This came right after I cried out to Him telling Him that I didn\’t know what to do next. I specifically said \”I have faith, but what do I do with my faith? It says faith without works is dead, but what works am I supposed to be doing?\”

In such a fatherly tone, He replied, gave me my instruction, and proceeded to say \”But you must start. I do my best work when you are at rock bottom.\”

In obedience, I started. I followed the instruction he gave me exactly as He said it. Did something miraculous happen, no. Trust me, I had that thought too. But it did stir something up in me. Increased faith. I know that if God tells me to do a thing & I do that thing, there is success on the other side of it. I know that if I stay the course of what He has instructed me to do I will reap a blessing for that.

This moment reminded me of a journey I began years ago…12 years ago to be exact. I started a beauty focused YouTube channel & never saw it through. I picked it up throughout the years from time to time. I prayed that I would see success in it frequently. People affirmed my gift, but inconsistency kept me from seeing results. Mostly due to impatience, life\’s circumstances, creativity blocks. The list can go on and on about why I picked it up and put it back down so many times. But the desire never left me. Through career pivots, kids, seasons and years. Creating meaningful beauty content has never left my heart.

The 1 thing that has changed though, is my intention. Now my intention is to be able to give God all the glory. To be a disciple and bring forth or bring back people to the love of God. I want to inspire others, through my journey and my success, to build their relationship with the Lord 1st & foremost. To spread the message that if He can do it for me, He can do it for you.

I\’m starting to understand and see why He has instructed me to do and not do certain things. Do you know how hard it is to not take a job that you NEED and that you thought would be the open door to the career journey you thought you desired? But, because of what He instructed me to do, I understand why he told me \”Don\’t take that position, I have something better for you.\” Imagine not taking a decent job when you\’re at rock bottom. Talk about radical obedience lol.

I have no choice but to use my gifts at this point. I have no choice but to be faithful in this thing that I started 12 years ago. It\’s time to put my all into it, because there are no other options. God left me with NO OTHER OPTION.

God knows the desires of our hearts because He gives them to us and I\’m thankful to Him for giving me chance after chance to fulfill this particular one. This time the difference is I\’m letting God to take the lead, and I will follow. This time, Im going all the way – with Him leading.

Is there something God has been nudging you to do, or create, or see through and you haven\’t? I know that feeling all too well. Let this be some encouragement for you to get excited about it again. Bring God back in on your journey and let Him lead you to where He has purposed for you to go.
